3,800 kilometres and 36 days later René Heyde has successfully cycled from Perth to Geelong, near Melbourne, raising almost $25,000 for Cholmondeley Children’s Centre. What an amazing accomplishment!

After starting in Perth on August 1st, René will complete his journey this afternoon in Geelong, near Melbourne, following 36 days of cycling.

The ride is deeply personal for René as he stayed at Cholmondeley twice during his childhood.

13 teams kept their treadmills and bikes spinning for 24 hours non-stop raising close to $30,000 for Cholmondeley Children's Centre.

Over the weekend Cholmondeley Children's Centre ran its annual Street Appeal across Christchurch with the help of more than 100 volunteers.

12-year-old Alex has been coming to Cholmondeley for eight years and attending Cholmondeley’s quarterly intermediate boys’ weekends for the past few years, to spend time with other boys his age.

Cholmondeley has 23 beds for tamariki to stay during times of whānau stress or crisis, but on average just 17 of these beds are filled due to financial limitations.

Thanks to the generosity of the Canterbury community Cholmondeley managed to raise more than $11,000 for the centre through this year's Les Mills City2Surf.

On Thursday Cholmondeley Children’s Centre celebrated its 99th birthday in style with cupcakes, decorations and a birthday banner handmade by its most important people - its tamariki.

After five years of serving on Cholmondeley Children’s Centre’s Board as a Member, Darel Hall has stepped down to look for new opportunities to contribute to the community.
