A Century of Caring:
Honouring Our Past, Celebrating Our Present, Building Our Future

We’re celebrating 100 years of care at Cholmondeley Children’s Centre.

In February and March we held a range of events to mark the special miestone. Keep your eyes peeled for more centenary events in the second half of the year!

  • Open Day

Thank you to everyone who came to visit the Centre to learn more about what we do.

We had around 200 people through the gates including the Governor-General, Her Excellency The Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kiro, local elected representatives, Cholmondeley children and students from Governor’s Bay and Christchurch schools.

With the help of a team of volunteers, we sold Cholmondeley-grown strawberry plants and local succulents, sausages and raffle tickets. The What Now team also brought some fun with their gunge machine!

  • Dress Up for Cholmondeley

Thank you to the schools and businesses who dressed up for Cholmondeley on Friday, March 7th.

We have already had some great dress-up photos come through, and would love to see more!

Thank you to all the teams who came along to Cholmondeley’s Centenary Golf Tournament supported by ILAM Toyota on March 6th 2025.

The weather played ball at Russley Golf Club and we had a fantastic day of golf.

    See you next year!

  • Centenary Celebration in 2025

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Our Night on the Sea on February 21st kindly supported by the Royal New Zealand Navy.

It was a stunning event celebrating 100 years of Cholmondeley and an impressive display by our Navy staff from Commanders to trainees.

  • Kids Movie Night

Thank you to our Cholmondeley community for coming along to our Kids Movie Night on February 15th.

Our children and their families enjoyed a sausage sizzle, popcorn, and watching a movie on the big outdoor screen.

We loved hosting you and hope you enjoyed yourselves too.
