We had around 200 people through the gates including the Governor-General, Her Excellency The Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kiro, local elected representatives, Cholmondeley children and students from Governor’s Bay and Christchurch schools.

On Saturday January 25th Nuk and Nettles will finish their ride at the Beehive in Wellington and they would like to invite alumni and members of the public to join them from 11.30am.

Starting from Cape Reinga on January 11th the pair will pedal all the way to Wellington. Their 1,400 kilometre journey is expected to take around two weeks.

After starting in Perth on August 1st, René will complete his journey this afternoon in Geelong, near Melbourne, following 36 days of cycling.

Alex’s story
12-year-old Alex has been coming to Cholmondeley for eight years and attending Cholmondeley’s quarterly intermediate boys’ weekends for the past few years, to spend time with other boys his age.
Cholmondeley launches campaign to fill beds
Cholmondeley has 23 beds for tamariki to stay during times of whānau stress or crisis, but on average just 17 of these beds are filled due to financial limitations.
