There is an old saying that "Charity Begins at home" and it couldn't be more true!
Cholmondeley is in your back yard. Cholmondeley sits in the heart of Canterbury helping to make life a little easier for Canterbury's children and families. By signing up for Charity Begins at Home you can help Cholmondeley make a difference to the children of Canterbury. What better way to support your community.

What does it cost to run your home?
Do you get a shock when you get your power bill in winter? Is there a surprise sometimes at the supermarket checkout?
Well just imagine what it would cost if you had 18 children? That’s the size of the family at Cholmondeley. It’s little wonder with a family that size that costs add up very quickly. To run Cholmondeley for just one day costs approximately $2898
Where does all that money go?
The children are warm and always have hot water. So, our power bill costs $2,600 per month
The children get tasty nutritious meals three times a day as well as morning and afternoon tea. So, the meat bill is $300 a week
The children go on fun outings and excursions. So, the petrol costs can run to more than $1,400 per month
How do I get involved?
It’s very easy, just fill out this form, sign and return by post to Cholmondeley, PO Box 12 276, Beckenham, Christchurch 8242 and we can take care of the rest.
It is important that you send this form back to Cholmondeley as your details will need to be entered onto our system. If we diont do this you might not get a tax receipt. Since the law has changed you can now claim back 33% of your donation.
